Sayed Qutb (1906-1966) was a Muslim Brotherhood leader; he was the Brotherhood theorist and casuist. He draws the line between what is Islamic and what is debauchery and apostasy. Applying Islamic Sharia law exclusively derived from the literal interpretation of the Quran and Sunnah is the only guarantee of “a true Islamic society.” Any secularism, liberalism, or copying from the West, which Qutb detested, will turn a Muslim society to “a barbaric pre-Islamic Jahili (ignorant) society.”
Radical Muslims believe that they can take the world by violence and by Wahabi ideology. Therefore, Sayed Qutb recommended the idea of “violence as a shortcut to take the world since Allah is on Wahabis side. Scientific and economical excellence would take a lot longer and the West is already ahead,” Qutb Affirms. Therefore, the radical ideology of violence is the best option.
